Got invited to this restaurant by local friends who spoke so highly of this place but we all left feeling EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED by the service. The lady who seems to be the owner couldn’t care less about the customers, she was constantly on her phone behind the bar. The ONE waitress serving the whole restaurant packed with clients didn’t want to engage, probably because of the language barrier? Or maybe because she was overwhelmed with the amount of work. Food was served and no cutlery, had to keep asking again and again.
Food was ok-ish but not as good as my friends said. May be we went there on a bad day! They are apparently known for their truffle dishes hence eating there but wasn’t that good anyway. My friends in l’aquila felt very embarrassed and apologised so much as they also witnessed how bad it was.
This is an excellent restaurant serving quality local dishes & what is more generous portions.
Highly recommended & for those who struggle slightly with Italian they are willing to engage in English.
The Antipasti is as good as it gets & I particularly enjoyed the Ragu .
Discovered by chance driving to the Grotte di Stiffe. It definitely was a positive experience. Home made specialities using truffles and wild mushrooms. Service can be a bit slow as everything is freshly cooked. When you are not in a hurry, who cares? Cheers!
Great restaurants with delicious food based on locally and seasonally available ingredients, service was super friendly and welcoming and they have a cute terrasse (however beware of you are a non smoker that there are a lot of smokers on the terrasse). Food was delicious and fresh!
This place was just fantastic. And even though their was a bit of a language barrier, we overcame that and got some fabulous food. We were craving for some fresh vegetables and salad and we got some great stuff. All the pasta with truffles was fantastic and the tiramisu was the best of our trip. And the location of the place is also fabulous.

This has to be one of the finest restaurants in the whole of L’Aquila . Food , ambience , service . Nevis runs the restaurant with the highest of professionalism and personal skill . Unfortunately the restaurant is often fully booked and so reservation is always advisable . The restaurant is the Gold Standard in every way . We have NEVER been disappointed with our dining experience except not being able to get a booking . 😇
Family operated restaurant. Pleasant ambience. Courteous staff. Very very good quality food with a correct price. Good choice of wines. They also have gluten-free versions of the menu.
